Our dealership network has grown alongside our commitment to local service. In 1993, our Dealer Principal Joe Zito expanded the family business by opening New Town Toyota, now one of Australia’s leading Toyota dealerships. While both dealerships remain 100% family owned and operated, Kalamunda Toyota now benefits from the scale and support of Toyota’s largest Parts and Accessories dealership—helping us deliver even greater value and efficiency to our customers.

Staying True to Our Roots

You can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country values—or the love of farming—out of Joe Zito. Raised on a farm in Kirup in WA’s South West, Joe's first job off the farm was pumping petrol at his father's petrol station and restoring cars to sell. Those early years shaped his lifelong approach to business: work hard, stay humble, and look after your community.

Even after a long and successful career in the automotive industry, Joe still takes pride in supporting WA’s farming communities—from local growers in the Perth Hills to customers across the regions.

From Local Favourite to Nationally Recognised

In 2001, Kalamunda Toyota was proudly awarded the Toyota President’s Award, a prestigious national honour reserved for dealerships that demonstrate excellence across every area of operation—from customer service and sales to parts, service, and overall business performance. As a small, independent dealership in the Perth Hills, being recognised as the Best Toyota Dealership, not only in Perth but the whole of Australia was a milestone moment that reflected our team’s dedication and our community’s trust.

Since then, we’ve continued to strive for excellence, taking home a number of awards over the years in conjunction with our sister dealership including Toyota Top 20 Dealership in 2024, and  Excellence in Retail at the 2023 Kalamunda Chamber of Commerce Awards.

As Kalamunda Toyota has grown, so too has our commitment to providing the best possible experience for our customers. In recent years, we’ve undergone major renovations and upgrades to modernise our dealership—introducing state-of-the-art workshop technology, updated customer lounges, and expanded service facilities. Today, we’re proud to have a team of over 50 local staff, all dedicated to helping the Hills community drive with confidence. While our tools and spaces may be cutting-edge, our approach remains the same: personal, genuine, and proudly rooted in the region we call home.
